SDG 2: Zero Hunger | SDG 9: Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure
Institutions: Ministry of Food Processing Industries
World Food India 2025 concluded on September 28th, 2025, with 26 MoUs worth ₹1,02,046.89 crore, projecting 64,000+ direct and 10 lakh+ indirect jobs across dairy, packaged foods, beverages, spices, and ready-to-eat segments. Global majors (e.g., Coca-Cola, Nestlé, AB InBev, Olam, Carlsberg) joined Indian firms (e.g., Amul, Tata Consumer, Dabur), with investments spread across multiple states. Participation included New Zealand, Vietnam, Japan, Russia, with government-to-government meetings also held with Portugal, Zimbabwe, Uganda.
Parallel events showcased India’s regulatory and export stance: the 3rd Global Food Regulators Summit (FSSAI) on food-safety harmonisation, and the 24th India International Seafood Show (SEAI/MPEDA) on seafood trade. Day 1 alone recorded ₹76,000 crore in MoUs; overall, 4,657 B2B, 154 G2G, 9,564 RBSM meetings and 35,784 footfall were noted.
These developments advance Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, promote value-addition in agriculture via PMFME and allied schemes, and strengthen India’s position in global food safety frameworks. The Seafood Show directly supports India’s goal of USD 15 billion seafood exports by 2030, while the Regulators Summit enhances trust in Indian standards for global markets.

What is the India International Seafood Show (IISS)? → Organised by SEAI (Seafood Exporters Association of India) with MPEDA, IISS is Asia’s premier seafood trade fair. The 24th edition (Sep 25–28, 2025, Bharat Mandapam, Delhi) featured 260+ stalls, 15+ participating countries, and RBSM sessions, aiming to help India reach USD 15 billion seafood exports by 2030.
