Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 Launched in Namchi District of Sikkim with Focus on Nutrition and Community Engagement
SDG 2: Zero Hunger | SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
Institutions: Ministry of Women and Child Development | Government of Sikkim
The 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah was launched by the Women, Child, Senior Citizen, and Divyangjan Welfare Department in Namchi, with the SDM leading the Poshan Pledge. The campaign reaffirms a collective commitment to improving nutritional outcomes and promoting a healthier society.
The 2025 edition highlights key themes such as combating obesity, integrating early childhood care and education with nutrition, optimal infant feeding practices, and promoting active male involvement in nutrition. Additional focus areas include the βEk Ped Maa Ke Naamβ tree plantation drive and endorsement of local food systems for sustainability.
A special Sewa Pakhwada campaign from September 17 to October 16 will enable community-led activities related to health, nutrition, cleanliness, and service, aiming for holistic development and widespread societal participation.
Relevant question for policy stakeholders: How can participatory, theme-based nutrition campaigns ensure sustained improvements in community health and nutrition practices?
