SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being | SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Institutions: Ministry of Ayush | Government of Kerala
The National Ayush Mission inaugurated a two-day workshop in Kerala on “IT Solutions in the Ayush Sector,” bringing together 91 representatives from 23 states and UTs. The event aims to accelerate the adoption of digital tools in Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and other Ayush systems. Key initiatives like the Ayush Grid and aligned digital portals were discussed to foster interoperability, standardization, real-time monitoring, human resource management, and financial transparency. Kerala’s own digital health achievements were spotlighted as a model for other states. Secretary Ayush Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha emphasized the need for unified, scalable platforms across states to enhance accessibility, affordability, and service quality, and urged participants to align state-level systems with the National Digital Health Mission.
By pushing for digital standardization and platform alignment in the Ayush sector, the workshop reflects a push toward integrating traditional healing systems into India’s broader digital health architecture. The emphasis on real-time data, interoperable systems, and state-center coordination can improve health governance, reduce fragmentation, and elevate Ayush’s role in public health delivery.
Relevant Question for Policy Stakeholders: What architecture, governance mechanisms, and incentives are needed to ensure that state-level Ayush digital systems are interoperable, scalable, and sustainably maintained, rather than becoming siloed pilots?
