The Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, along with the Secretary of Textiles, held discussions to strengthen skill development programs and empower artisans in the regionβs traditional sectors. The initiative aims to enhance livelihoods, improve craftsmanship, and promote sustainable production practices while preserving cultural heritage.
The discussions also focused on leveraging training programs, market linkages, and digital platforms to increase artisansβ income and competitiveness. By fostering skill-based entrepreneurship and capacity building, the government seeks to boost economic opportunities in J&Kβs handicraft, handloom, and other traditional industries.
