The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, and UN Women India have announced a global Call for Nominations for a Compendium on the Real-World Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Advancing Gender Equality. This collaboration aims to highlight measurable and verifiable AI applications that are actively driving positive change for women and girls, especially across the Global South.
The Compendium, titled “Top 15 AI Solutions from the Global South,” is intended to serve as a key knowledge-sharing resource for global policymakers, development leaders, and industry experts, promoting responsible, inclusive, and gender-responsive AI adoption aligned with global priorities. Innovators, researchers, and practitioners who have implemented successful, scalable AI solutions across key sectors, including Health, Finance, Climate Resilience, Safety, and Education, are invited to submit abstracts (maximum 250 words) by the deadline of December 15, 2025. The final publication will be unveiled at the India–AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi in February 2026.

This joint initiative is a significant step toward embedding gender equality and social responsibility at the forefront of India’s national AI strategy. By focusing on verifiable, real-world applications from the Global South, India is leveraging its leadership in digital public infrastructure to set a global benchmark for inclusive innovation and multilateral cooperation in technology governance.
