India-UK Launch Joint Science & Tech Dashboard to Track Research Partnership Progress
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals | SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Institutions: Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India | Ministry of Science and Technology
India and the United Kingdom have launched the pilot version of the India-UK Science & Technology Partnership (IN-UK-STP) Dashboard, unveiled on 4 November 2025 at New Delhi. The platform captures 143 bilateral projects (from 2018 onwards) between Indian and UK stakeholders, mapping funding, implementing agencies, and alignment with the India‑UK Science & Innovation Council goals, the 17 SDGs, and broad technology cooperation themes.
Key future plans include expanding the dashboard to incorporate impact-metrics (such as publications, patents, start-ups, HR development and private-sector linkages) and enabling real-time data inputs from all relevant stakeholders on both sides to support strategic decision-making.
The dashboard marks a shift towards evidence-based science diplomacy, enabling the tracking of high-value research, innovation and technology flows in Indo-UK cooperation. It supports India’s leap-frog agenda under “Viksit Bharat @ 2047”, bolsters knowledge-economy ambition, and enhances global science partnerships by making output, impact and accountability more visible and strategic.
Relevant Question for Policy Stakeholders:
Can the dashboard be scaled to incorporate private-sector co-innovation, real-time outcomes, and regional spill-overs — ensuring that India-UK research collaboration directly contributes to start-ups, technology exports and ecosystem building?
