SDG 2: Zero Hunger | SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
Institutions: Ministry of Food Processing Industries | Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
India will host two complementary events at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi in September 2025. World Food India 2025, organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries from 25 to 28 September, is designed to showcase Indiaβs food processing sector, attract investment, promote innovation, and strengthen global trade linkages. Running alongside this, the Global Food Regulators Summit 2025, convened by FSSAI under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on 26 and 27 September, will bring together regulators and policymakers to focus on food safety, harmonisation of standards, and consumer health.
Although distinct in scope, the two events are deliberately scheduled side by side to create synergy. World Food India highlights the economic and trade potential of the sector, while the Global Regulators Summit addresses governance and safety concerns. Together they underline Indiaβs intent to balance growth with regulatory oversight in building a resilient, competitive, and consumer-oriented food system.
The twin events signal Indiaβs integrated approach to policy: encouraging global investment in food processing while simultaneously strengthening regulatory frameworks. This coordination across ministries is key for scaling innovation without compromising public health.
Relevant Question for Policy Stakeholders:
What long-term institutional mechanisms can be developed to ensure that regulatory cooperation achieved at the Global Food Regulators Summit continues to inform trade and investment strategies showcased at World Food India?
