SDG 9: Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure | SDG 8: Decent Work & Economic Growth
Institutions: Ministry of Heavy Industries | Ministry of Commerce & Industry
On 15 September 2025, the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) announced the appointment of Vikrampati Singhania, Managing Director of JK Fenner India Ltd., as its President for 2025–26. Sriram Viji, Managing Director of Brakes India Pvt. Ltd., has been named President-Designate. ACMA, the apex body representing India’s auto component industry, made the announcement through its official press release.
The leadership transition comes at a time when the auto component industry is navigating supply chain realignments, electrification, and increasing ESG compliance pressures. ACMA has consistently acted as the policy interface for industry, engaging government on localisation, PLI schemes, skilling, and export competitiveness (ACMA–EY Auto Component Industry Review, 2023–24). Under the new president, ACMA is expected to deepen dialogue with ministries on EV components, raw material access, advanced manufacturing, and sustainable supply chains.
Relevant Question for Policy Stakeholders:
How will ACMA’s new leadership steer India’s auto component sector to remain globally competitive in the face of EV transition and ESG-linked supply chain pressures?
