Two-Day ‘National Agriculture Conference - Rabi Abhiyan 2025’ to Begin in New Delhi Tomorrow
SDG 2: Zero Hunger
Institution: Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare
The Union Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare is hosting the “National Agriculture Conference – Rabi Abhiyan 2025” in New Delhi on 15-16 September 2025 at the Bharat Ratna C. Subramaniam Auditorium, Pusa Campus. The conference will bring together State Agriculture Ministers, senior officials, scientists, and other agriculture stakeholders from across India. Central themes include preparations for the Rabi sowing season 2025-26, setting production targets, delivering improved seeds and technologies, managing fertilizers, weather forecasting, and sharing of best practices and regional experiences. For the first time, the meeting will span two days and involve Krishi Vigyan Kendras scientists to incorporate field level perspectives. Discussions aim to promote sustainable agriculture, enhance farmers’ incomes, and strengthen food security in the country.
This conference serves as an important coordination platform between the Centre, states, and scientific institutions to align strategies for the Rabi season, ensuring that policy planning is informed by local challenges and innovations. It could influence resource allocation, extension services, seed-technology adoption, and disaster preparedness ahead of the peak sowing period.
Relevant Question for Policy Stakeholders:
How will insights from Krishi Vigyan Kendras and state-level best practices feed into concrete policy or procurement changes that can be scaled for Rabi season success?
