In the seventeenth Vice-Presidential election held on 9 September 2025 in Parliament House, of the 781 eligible electors, 767 cast their votes, with 15 ballots invalidated. After the counting, Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan was declared elected as the 15th Vice President of India. The election process, initiated with a Gazette notification on 7 August 2025, concluded with the signing of the certification of his election by the Election Commission, comprising Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi, which was subsequently handed over to the Union Home Secretary. The Commission expressed its gratitude to the Returning Officer, Election Commission observers, Delhi Police, and CRPF for their role in ensuring a smooth electoral process.
