The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), in partnership with JCB International, has launched a limited-time 25% cashback offer for RuPay-JCB debit and credit cardholders on point-of-sale (POS) purchases in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, and the Philippines. The offer runs until 31 December 2025.
Eligibility requires at least two POS transactions in any of the listed countries during the offer period. Thereβs no minimum spending amount per transaction. The maximum cashback per transaction is βΉ1,500, and the total cashback cap per card through the offer is βΉ15,000.
NPCI says this step is intended to boost the global usability of RuPay cards, helping Indian travelers benefit from seamless payment experiences abroad, especially during the festive and year-end travel season.
This initiative underscores the push to internationalise Indian digital payments infrastructure and reduce dependence on foreign card networks when Indians travel. Strengthening the reach of RuPay globally can lower transaction costs, increase convenience, and enhance the competitiveness of Indian payment railways abroad.
