Ministry of Power Launches Stakeholder Survey for Digital Public Infrastructure for the power sector
SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy | SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Institution: Ministry of Power
The Ministry of Power has launched a stakeholder mapping survey to design the India Energy Stack (IES), a Digital Public Infrastructure for the power sector. The IES aims to enable an interoperable and intelligent energy ecosystem by defining open standards, APIs and protocols for data exchange between information technology (IT) systems and operational technology (OT) systems that manage physical grid operations. A Utility Intelligence Platform will be developed in collaboration with select distribution utilities to unlock data-driven innovation and efficiency. The survey seeks inputs on organizational readiness, solutions offered and willingness to engage with the IES ecosystem. Early participation will help stakeholders align product design with future interoperability standards while minimizing retrofit costs and enabling a future-ready energy sector.
Relevant question for policy stakeholders:
How can the government ensure wide stakeholder participation and effective feedback loops to build a resilient, scalable India Energy Stack that balances innovation with operational interoperability?
