SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions | SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Institutions: Ministry of Defence
The second edition of the Indian Navy’s Commanders’ Conference 2025 will convene in New Delhi from 22 to 24 October 2025, bringing together the Navy’s apex leadership to review operational preparedness, technological innovation, and joint capability development. The conference follows the Navy’s high-tempo operations under ‘Operation Sindoor’, underscoring its focus on combat readiness, interoperability, and maritime dominance across the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) and Indo-Pacific.
The sessions will include addresses by the Raksha Mantri, Cabinet Secretary, Chief of Defence Staff, and Chief of Air Staff, situating naval priorities within the broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. Strategic discussions will centre on:
Enhancing joint operations with the Indian Army, IAF and Coast Guard;
Integrating AI, Big Data and Machine Learning into combat and logistics;
Advancing indigenisation and Make in India defence manufacturing;
Promoting MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security Across all Regions), India’s initiative to strengthen regional maritime cooperation; and
Consolidating the Navy’s role as a Preferred Security Partner in the IOR and Indo-Pacific.
The conference reinforces the institutional preparedness of India’s maritime forces amid evolving security dynamics, technological disruptions, and geopolitical flux in the Indo-Pacific. Its emphasis on indigenisation, digital warfare, and regional partnerships aligns with the Make in India Defence Production Policy 2025, Maritime Vision 2030, and Sagarmala framework. Outcomes will inform next-generation procurement, joint planning, and India’s blue-water strategy.
