The India MedTech Expo 2025 concluded in New Delhi, showcasing India’s rapid progress toward becoming an indigenous MedTech hub. Over the past five years, the domestic share in medical device manufacturing surged from under 10% to 30%, including 20% for high-end products and exports crossed USD 4 billion. Participation included more than 500 domestic players (spanning MSMEs, startups, research institutes) and 150 international buyers from over 30 countries. The event featured discussions on building a future-ready regulatory ecosystem, capacity-building through training courses, and global collaboration—especially with Algeria—for harmonising regulatory approvals and expanding export footprints.
Relevant question for policy stakeholders: How can India leverage the momentum from MedTech Expo 2025 to build sustainable domestic-regional value chains, integrate skilled workforce development, and institutionalise regulatory capacities, while ensuring equitable market access for MSMEs and startups?
