The Ministry of Law and Justice has launched the “Live Cases” Dashboard under the Legal Information Management and Briefing System (LIMBS), an initiative aimed at enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in government litigation. The Government of India is one of the largest litigants in the country, and this system is key to proactively managing its court cases.
The new dashboard offers real-time data visualization of ongoing cases and provides an overview of upcoming hearings, enabling proactive decision-making and better coordination across Ministries and Departments. Currently, the LIMBS portal monitors 7,23,123 live cases submitted by 53 Ministries and Departments, with regular updates provided by over 13,000 Ministry users and 18,000 advocates.
The activation of the Live Cases Dashboard reinforces the government’s commitment to leveraging digital technology for improved governance and administrative efficiency. By providing real-time, data-driven insights into over seven lakh ongoing cases, the system aims to significantly reduce pending litigation, a key reform for improving judicial and institutional efficiency across the country.
