CSIR-CSIO earned ₹1.67 crore in royalty from Bharat Electronics Limited during FY 2025–26 through licensed indigenous defence avionics technologies. Beyond creating a recurring revenue stream, the licensing model supports domestic manufacturing, reduces dependence on imported technologies and demonstrates how intellectual property generated through publicly funded research can contribute to both economic and strategic objectives.
