The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) confirmed that the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE) 2025, which began on 12 September and runs until 26 September, is proceeding largely without major disruption across its 227 exam centres in 129 cities. Over 5.26 lakh candidates have completed their exams so far, out of over 28 lakh scheduled participants. To bolster transparency and accountability, SSC has introduced a Feedback Module on its official website to allow candidates to provide real-time comments and concerns. It has also rescheduled exams for ~1,100 candidates who faced scheduling conflicts or other valid reasons. Instances of malpractice on specific dates have been publicly posted to reinforce fairness.
In high-stakes public recruitment, introducing direct feedback mechanisms and responsive scheduling signals a push toward more citizen-oriented processes. These measures can strengthen institutional trust, reduce grievances, and improve the legitimacy of recruitment outcomes.
Relevant Question for Policy Stakeholders: How can SSC institutionalise feedback loops, real-time grievance redress, and transparency norms in large-scale examinations-beyond CGLE-to ensure fairness, reduce administrative load, and build candidate trust?
