The report showcases how India’s Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector are rapidly evolving beyond traditional back-office models, propelled by frontier technologies like generative AI to deliver healthcare innovation, research, and patient-centered capabilities.
It highlights how AI-driven automation - boosting efficiency by up to 40 percent - is transforming workflow while freeing technical experts to focus on strategic innovation. GCCs are increasingly adopting flexible operating models, such as Build-Operate-Transfer, and purpose-built GenAI agents to scale operations and drive sustainable growth. These centres symbolize India’s convergence of global scientific ambition with local expertise, enabling the nation to co-create health solutions for global impact.
The report underscores that GCCs are now critical enablers of next-generation healthcare innovation, combining world-class talent, digital infrastructure, and an innovation mindset to support both global and Indian healthcare objectives.
