SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities | SDG 4: Quality Education
Institution: Ministry of Minority Affairs
The Ministry of Minority Affairs convened a National Level Conclave on 13 September 2025 in New Delhi, gathering Ministers and Secretaries from eight States/Union Territories to evaluate and strengthen the implementation of welfare schemes for minority communities. Under the leadership of Union Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju, discussions focused on legislative, institutional, process, and policy reforms, with special attention to accelerating initiatives targeting women, youth, job creation, and infrastructure development through PM VIKAS and PMJVK. A five-year roadmap was presented with the goal of improving ease-of-service delivery, boosting competitiveness, and fostering a reform-oriented ecosystem in minority welfare.
The conclave signals a move beyond scheme announcement toward systemic reforms, suggesting that policy emphasis is shifting to implementation, accountability, and institutional capacity at the State/UT level. For minority communities, this could mean more reliable outcomes in employment, education, and infrastructure if delivery bottlenecks are addressed.
Relevant Question for Policy Stakeholders: What mechanisms will ensure this roadmap translates into measurable improvements in service delivery, employment, and skill outcomes for minority youth, especially in underperforming states?
