Ministry of Panchayati Raj Records 100 % Disposal of Public Grievances Under Special Campaign 5.0
SDG 16: Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions
Institutions: Ministry of Panchayati Raj
The Ministry of Panchayati Raj has achieved 100 % disposal of 299 public grievances and 104 public grievance appeals as part of its ongoing Special Campaign 5.0 running from 2 to 31 October 2025.
In addition, the campaign recorded the conduct of four cleanliness drives, review of 150 physical files (of which 100 were reviewed, i.e., 67 %) and examination of 460 e-files (355 reviewed, i.e., 77 %).
The successful disposal of grievances and institutional push for record-management and e-office adoption strengthens administrative accountability and transparency at the panchayat level. This aligns with the national agenda on digital governance, decentralisation and participatory rural institutions under schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Swaraj Yojana and the broader push toward effective local self-governance.
Relevant Question for Policy Stakeholders: What mechanisms will ensure that the momentum of grievance disposal and file/e-file review extends beyond the campaign period into sustained administrative culture change in all States and UTs?
