Institution: Ministry of Tribal Affairs
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs unveiled the beta version of Adi Sanskriti, a digital learning and cultural preservation platform, during the National Conference on Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan in New Delhi. Envisioned as the world’s first Digital Tribal Art University, the platform currently offers 45 immersive courses in tribal dance, painting, crafts, music, and folklore through the Adi Vishwavidyalaya module. Its Adi Sampada repository preserves over 5,000 curated documents across themes such as textiles, artefacts, and livelihoods, while Adi Haat, an online marketplace integrated with TRIFED, offers direct pathways for tribal artisans to reach global consumers. Developed in collaboration with State Tribal Research Institutes across 15+ states, the platform blends cultural preservation with economic empowerment. The Ministry’s vision is to expand Adi Sanskriti into a full-fledged digital university offering certifications, advanced research, and sustainable livelihood support for tribal communities.
