The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), has announced a six-day ITEC Executive Capacity Building Programme for senior-level officials of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) from the Global South. The programme will be held in New Delhi from 22 to 27 September 2025.It aims to share Indiaβs human rights experience, deepen understanding of rights frameworks, and foster cooperation and mutual learning among participant NHRIs from 12 countries including Mauritius, Jordan, Georgia, Philippines, Qatar, Fiji, Uzbekistan, Bolivia, Nigeria, Mali, Morocco, and Paraguay. The training will include interactive sessions, field visits, and exposure to Indiaβs institutional practices in human rights enforcement and advocacy.
This programme strengthens Indiaβs role in South-South cooperation and reinforces capacity building in human rights governance across the Global South. It also allows Indiaβs NHRC to project its institutional experience and promote dialogue on rights protection, institutional design, and grievance redressal across diverse jurisdictions.
