This report presents a comprehensive, evidence-based analysis of youth engagement in agrifood systems globally. It highlights how approximately 1.3 billion young people - many of whom depend on agriculture for livelihoods - can both benefit from and drive transformation in food systems.
The report identifies structural barriers limiting youth participation, including limited access to land, finance, training, and technology. At the same time, it emphasises the opportunity for youth to contribute to productivity, innovation, and sustainability.
It concludes with policy recommendations and investment priorities to foster equitable, youth-inclusive agrifood systems, advocating for rural youth to become both beneficiaries and leaders of change.
