The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and IT, reports that 1,938 e-government services have been integrated on DigiLocker and e-District platforms across all States and Union Territories. Maharashtra currently has the highest number of linked services (254), followed by Delhi (123), Karnataka (113), Assam (102), and Uttar Pradesh (86). Several smaller states, including Kerala and Jammu & Kashmir, have also crossed 70 services each.
According to NeGD, the expansion is intended to consolidate access to public services on common platforms. The press release also mentions plans for scaling through AI-based tools and training initiatives, though specific implementation details remain limited.
Relevant question for policy stakeholders: What metrics can be used to evaluate whether digital service integration on common platforms translates into improved accessibility and uptake across states?
